Experience the best music from Greenland
Once again Nukiga* presents Spot on Greenland with the best contemporary music from Greenland when four Greenlandic bands visit SPOT Festival during their spring tour.
The first name on the line-up is rapper Don Maliko. He signed his first contract with the record label Sermit Records and released his debut album “Sinnattupilik” in 2007 where he was named “New name of the year” at KNR Music Awards and quickly gained popularity in all of Greenland. Last year he returned after a 10-year break with the release of his second album “II”.
Nive & The Deer Children play quirky compositions with references to indie, folk, pop and jazz. The music is characterized by small impressions and sensations to evoke special emotions in the audience. With a wide range of instruments and whispering vocals, the listener enters a dreamlike universe of melodic harmony and mood-inspired images.
Sound of the Damned is a heavy metal band with a twist of deathcore. The band was formed in 2017, and consists of four highly energetic guys and their songwriter Pani Enequist. With roots in the emerging Greenlandic underground culture, the deep and honest texts about society’s development nationally and globally are a recurring theme.
Suluit consists of the talented Greenlandic singers and actors Nukâka Coster-Waldau, Karina Møller and Ilanguaq Lumholt. The sound is inspired by the Arctic nature, traditional Greenlandic drum songs and legends – a beautiful and expressive mix of world music, soul, pop, jazz and throat singing takes the audience on a journey to the beautiful north.
As a special feature, Spot on Greenland will be accompanied by the intercultural food concept Arctic Street Food. Focus is on the interpretation of raw materials from Greenland in new and exciting ways, so that the audience gets the opportunity to enjoy authentic modern Arctic food between the concerts.

Since 2016 Nukiga has been responsible for a large number of cultural and business-focused activities with the purpose of establishing better conditions for dialogue and cooperation between Greenland, Denmark and international actors.
