Nordic Beats
By: Kathrine Alby
What do you get, if you combine eight hip-hop artists from the Nordic countries, one DJ, a microphone, one stage and 90 minutes? You get SPOT’s new concept: Nordic Beats.
SPOT Festival has always paid special attention to upcoming music, and the program of 2019 won’t be any exception. Looking at the exuberant urban / hip-hop scene in Denmark and in the rest of the Nordic countries, we want to give you a taste of the new upcoming talents in one concentrated showcase: Nordic Beats.
The idea is simply to combine a handful of young, rising hip-hop artists in an intense 90-minute demonstration of what the budding Nordic hip hop, grime, urban, trap, etc. scene sounds like and is capable of. The dynamic between Lillebittebock (DK), Baby Binoa (DK), Michael Williams (DK, øverst TH), Flóni (IS, nederst TH), Jelassi (SE, øverst TV), Kamelen (NO, nederst TV), Mangera (DK) and Nikotin (DK) will bring an urban diversity to the stage while Pelle Peter Jensen (DK) is going to be the DJ. Peller Peter Jensen is a proficient artist, who knows his way around both old and new hip-hop music.
We’re looking forward to introducing the upcoming Nordic talents on Saturday, May 4th, 23:00 at Aarhus Congress Center, Club Stage.
