Inden SPOT Festival 2019 introducerer vi dig til flere af de internationale branchepersoner, som har bekræftet deres deltagelse på årets SPOT Festival. Her kan du møde Si Hawkins fra Gigwise. Can you tell us a bit about the media’s history and its roster? Gigwise launched in 2001 and is now one of the best-known UK music destinations, renowned for breaking new acts and big stories on major artists. I freelance for them.

– and a bit about the acts you personally have covered recently? My most interesting recent music piece was about Nils Frahm’s Piano Day, talking to acts and organisers about how a musical instrument can bring people together, across the globe

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music? I’d like to say something profound here, but really it was the moment the university magazine’s music editor handed me a bundle of free CDs and said ‘review these.’ Boom!

What are your favourite Danish acts? I love Get Your Gun and Farveblind, both from Aalborg but both very different, and Nelson Can – I guess they are all pretty well-known now. At Spot 2019 I’ll be putting a ring on Hjalte Ross, The Entrepreneurs, the Crunchy Frog 25th Birthday Party, and hopefully stumbling across lots of cool new stuff.
