For the third year in a row the organization Det Turkise Telt proudly presents Roots&Hybrid Festival as part of SPOT. The line-up is  a snapshot of a vibrant roots scene which is developing rapidly these years. The festival has its own pull by way of an international appeal both from within and from without. Over three days the 18 acts will embody the sound of openness and diversity for the festival crowd. At the same time time the line-up also attracts the attention of the international industry and media people.

“We are expanding the horizon so to speak. It is an expansion of the horizon that arouses one’s curiosity about old roots while also reinvigorating them”,  says Evrim Citirikkaya, project head of Det Turkise Telt. At the intersection of the windswept Nordic shores and the distant horizons you find Det Turkise Telt as a hybrid in itself, which introduces rhythms from far and wide.  While SPOT focuses on Danish and Nordic music, this festival within the festival broadens the scope with music from all around the globe – in terms of nationality, artistic inspiration, traditions and fusions. You’ll get the unknown in an extreme close-up in this celebration of the community of diversity, and with a versatile line-up, the festivalgoer  is going to land safely on a bed of roots and hybrids.

The Peruvian DJ and producer duo Dengue Dengue Dengue (PE) will show up with hand-made masks and an explosive audio visual show. The Arabian group 47SOUL (PS) are ready to blow Roots&Hybrid away with revolutionary shamstep. Taking Latin American traditions like cumbia, reggaeton and local folk music as  his point of departure, El Remolón (AR) creates an experimental and digital universe which lures you away from reality and into the party. Also among the 20 acts are: The Mauskovic Dance Band (NL), Rizan Said (SY), YIN YIN (NL), Ipek Yolu, Tuhaf (DK/TR), Tundra (DK), Faratuben (DK/TN), Analogik (DK), AySay (DK), Black Flower (DK), Dawda Jobarteh (GM), Nanna Bech (DK), Nuri (DK/TN), Total Hip Replacement & African Footprint Int. (DK/GHand Días Nórdicos Meets Reflections (GM/AR/DK).

For a while Den Grå Hal (‘The Grey Hall’) will be turned into a many-coloured, joyful oasis where music genres will fuse and people will get together in mutual understanding, atmosphere and dancing. Are you coming?
