Connecting the Danish and German music industries during SPOT
– SPOT presents two different initiatives to bridge the gap between the Danish and German music industries in the new digital age
The German music scene is undergoing a great transformation these years with major changes within the industry as well as the platforms and the media. Not only is the German market one of the most important to Danish music – for the last many years, the German industry has also constituted the largest international group of all at SPOT.
Danish-German Talent Camp
SPOT’s Talent Camp is designed for young music industry professionals from both Denmark and Germany with the aim of initiating networking synergies within the new generation from both countries.
The participants will get to know each other through a speed networking session and subsequently strengthen their relationships in smaller groups through project work. Real life music industry cases will be handed out on Friday to groups of 3-5 people – the assignments must then be completed by the following day and presented to the industry professional who has submitted the assignment. There will be a live case with Mikkel Wad Larsen (3rdTsunami – DK), a sync case with Gareth Carter (Crunchy Frog – DK), a label case with Tobias Lampe (hfh Music – DE) and a PR case with Phillipp Oppenhäuser (FACTOTY92 – DE).
Two-hourdialogue and networking event
The second initiative is a new two-hour event concept focused on moderated dialogue and networking between the “Game Changers” of the Danish and German music industries.
Germany has transitioned towards the same digital music industry path as Scandinavia did several years ago. This means that the rules of German artist development, PR and marketing have changed significantly as well. The fact that Denmark has been a digital music economy much longer than Germany provides the foundation for a two-way learning and networking event. On the one hand the Danish industry will get to meet the contacts needed for breaking through in Germany, and on the other hand the German industry can benchmark best practices from a much more experienced digital music industry.
The event is scheduled for Saturday 4thMay from 14:30 – 16:30, and will be moderated by the German music journalist Daniel Koch (Flux FM and Musikexpress) and feature around 20 Danish and German music industry game changers including the likes of Majestic Casual (DE), Glass Management (DK), Grönland Records (DE), Crunchy Frog (DK), Believe (DE/DK), Linkfire (DK/DE), and Beat the rich (DE).
The two events are presented in cooperation with German SPOT partner, FACTORY92.
