A night dedicated to metal music

Af: Kathrine Alby

If you’re into metal music in torrents, you should make a mental note to be at the venue TRAIN on Friday night during SPOT. A collaboration between TRAIN, SPOT Festival, and MXD – Music Export Denmark presents a whole evening dedicated to some of the heaviest tones in music, introducing the metal bands BAEST, LLNN, Orm, Xenoblight and Nyt Liv. This is a great opportunity for visiting international industry professionals to get a taste of some of the most relevant and seminal Danish metal music emerging right now.

“The Danish metal genre is on a roll at the moment,” says Carsten Nielsen, manager at Train. “The collaboration between TRAIN and SPOT can raise a business-related and industrywide awareness of the national and international potential of metal music. SPOT Festival is all about creating a space for new genres and collaborations. That is why we want to create a whole evening dedicated to the Danish metal scene.”

Carsten Nielsen’s statement is supported by Jens Uhre Karlsson, the manager of BAEST. He also works for SPOT and MXD to make the metal night a special networking event between the Danish and the international music business:

“We can really feel that the competition is getting tougher and tougher – and there are several signs: Danish metal bands are increasingly discovered and signed by the established business – it is remarkable that niche and underground bands are picked up and introduced in the general market. That would not have happened two years ago. And the international awareness of the Danish metal festival Copenhell keeps growing. It’s good for the competition.”

Before the line-up is ready to blow you away with an energetic hellfire, there will be an international meet’n’greet for visiting delegates from the English agency Artery Global, Inferno Festival (NO), MetalDays Festival (SLO) Doomstar Bookings (NL) and the magazine Metal Hammer (UK).
