SPOT is back – presenting 34 new signings this week
First up is Hans SOLO, a young producer and DJ from SPOT’s home town, Aarhus. Known for his productions for New York rapper Joey Bada$$, he has now begun a collaboration with the US underground rapper Jaden Castro. Talking about hip-hop (and atmospheric R’n’B) we present WIINSTON: two childhood friends who after just two years together have established themselves as a new Danish urban hope with international potential.
School of X (photo above) have already performed at renowned festivals such as Roskilde Festival and Reeperbahn with their melancholic, longing pop, and from Sweden alternative pop queen Jenny Wilson has also been added to the bill in a very special setting at SPOT, as well as her fellow countrymen, Mankind, described this way: ”like a shot of adrenaline straight to the heart”.
SPOT partners Roots&Hybrid have added Argentinian El Remolón (photo above) to the bill promising ”minimal cumbia mixed with shamanistic techno in a laid-back groove with dub tendencies and hypnotic loops” – along with Belgian Black Flower, and The Mauskovic Dance Band from the Netherlands’.
Music Cities Network presents bands from Denmark (Niklas Runge), Norway (Iris), Germany (MAYES), and the Netherlands (Inge van Calkar), and promotion/booking/management company Smash!Bang!Pow! has six acts on its bill. Furthermore, Rock The Region has added seven acts, while the five acts from SPOT On Greenland are determined to show that the music scene is hot up north too.
Other new additions: Emil Kruse, Fravær, Shaq, The Grenadines, Zookeepers, Analogik, Nuri (DK/TN), Tundra, Bona Fide, Simon Littauer, Ingeline, Karl Kristian, Maine Coon, Metervare, nøia, Paper Cranes, Power Mode, Atsinnermiut (GL), Don Maliko (GL), Nive & The Deer Children (GL), Sound of the Damned (GL), Suluit (GL), and Royal Mob.
